Cherokee Economic Partner Luncheon

The Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED) and sponsor Georgia Power welcomed Cherokee economic partners to a luncheon Monday, July 23rd at the Georgia Resource Center. Representatives from AGL Resources, Georgia Department of Economic Development, GEDA, Georgia EMC, Georgia Power, Electric Cities of Georgia, and Metro Atlanta Chamber were in attendance.
Misti Martin, President & CEO of COED, spoke along with Chairman Marshall Day, Vice-Chairman Steve Holcomb, and Cherokee Board of Commissioners Chairman Buzz Ahrens. Misti Martin said, “It’s a pleasure to connect with so many who work to bring business and jobs to Cherokee County. We are very well supported on a state level.” With prospect activity being even higher in 2012 compared to record numbers in 2011, COED is hopeful to assist in bringing jobs to the area.
Bilijack Bell – Wilson, Hull, & Neal and Phillip Hight – MDH featured properties located within the Opportunity Zone (OZ). Other properties featured within the OZ included Majestic’s Cherokee Commerce Center, TPA Realty Services The Bluffs, and COED’s Cherokee 75 Corporate Park which recently began Phase I construction. (Cherokee 75 Corporate Park bidding opened July 6th.)
