Metro Atlanta Film Summit Announces Lineup Including Eagle Rock Studios President and General Manager

February 25, 2025

ACWORTH, GA — The first annual Metro Atlanta Film Summit (MAFS)’s mainstage panel will be led by Eagle Rock Studios’ President, Gideon Amir, and General Manager of Studio Operations, Mike Clark, who will discuss Eagle Rock’s ten-year anniversary and how creative productions can continue moving Georgia’s film industry forward.

Eagle Rock Studios Atlanta is the largest stage complex under one roof in the United States with 465,000 square feet of space. The facility includes two furnished production offices and four 30,000 sq. ft. stages. Its impact on Metro Atlanta’s film industry is immeasurable.

Eagle Rock President Gideon Amir and General Manager of Studio Operations Mike Clark will be discussing not only the accomplishments and impact Eagle Rock has had as it celebrates its tenth anniversary this year but will also be looking toward the future and exploring today’s entertainment climate.

MAFS will feature another mainstage presentation, From Passion to Profit: The Business of Film, to help local creatives make their ideas a reality. This panel will be led by Kristy Clabaugh and John Thomas, Partners at Element CPA and Storyboard Financial Services, who will join City National Bank’s Senior Vice President Randie Brooks for this informative conversation to ignite local projects.

The team behind Metro Atlanta Film Summit passionately believes that the diversely talented people who make up the metro region’s film workforce are the heartbeat of Georgia’s film production.

MAFS was created as a beacon of inspiration, perspective and connection. Convening creatives, decision makers and industry leaders, MAFS aims to ignite conversations that empower guests to chart the path forward for the metro filmmaking community.

Atlanta is one of the fastest growing economies in the nation – and its impacts are felt throughout the metro region. Atlanta and its surrounding counties are a wealth of talent and opportunity for blockbusters and budding independent filmmakers alike.

The summit features a variety of expert speakers and panelists, as well as connection points for professional advice on entering and progressing in the variety of career paths within Georgia’s Film Production Industry.

Start the day with a creative reset led by Tom Cox, author of What the Hell is This? Following this reset, dive into breakout sessions with a fresh perspective. This year, MAFS will offer breakout topics on navigating Georgia’s Film Tax incentive, increasing entertainment tourism in your hometown, maximizing content creation, camera tools, motion capture technologies and more – along with the opening and mainstage presentations. Light breakfast and lunch are included in the ticket price.

Driven by the Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED), MAFS was created due to the tremendous success and growth of the Cherokee Film Summit, which celebrated its fifth anniversary last March. In total, the Cherokee Film Summit drew in over 100 speakers and panelists for over 1,500 attendees across many sectors.

Whether you are a filmmaker, passionate about the creation of filmed content or are looking to bring film to your community, secure your spot in this future. This event offers a unique platform to learn, connect and explore how you can play a role in this exciting industry.
