CBL & Associates Properties Inc. (NYSE: CBL) and Horizon Group Properties Inc. today announced construction will begin immediately on The Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta. The 370,600-square-foot initial phase of the center is scheduled to open in August 2013 and will feature Nike, Saks Fifth Avenue OFF 5TH, Brooks Brothers, White House | Black Market, Guess, Michael Kors, Under Armour, Puma, Converse, Cole Haan, Vans, Le Creuset, Levis, Naartjie Kids, Talbots and Carters.

The companies said they expect to announce additional retailers in the near future. Click here to read the full announcement.

The center is located at the newly constructed exit off I-575 at Ridgewalk Parkway. Site preparation will take place over the next few months with structural work beginning later this summer, the companies said. When completed, the center is projected to generate more than $130 million in annual sales.

The project is the first in metro Atlanta since the late 1990s for Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL, which also owns Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville.

Atlanta Business Chronicle first reported on the project last year.
