UAC receives REBA Grant

This morning the Cherokee Office of Economic Development and Chairman Marshall Day delivered a $250,000 check to Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC) as part of the State’s REBA Grant to offset costs related to their most recent multi-million dollar expansion.
This expansion is the second major expansion to take place at UAC since their arrival in 1996. They expanded their current facility by 85,000 square feet and have purchased a 9,500 ton press set to arrive in late 2012.
UAC is the leading provider of aerospace aluminum extrusions to the global aerostructures industry. For 2006 – 2011, UAC has been honored with the Gulfstream Aerospace Supplier of the Year Award. Leaders at UAC have become the top in their field with innovative strategies and lean manufacturing. UAC employees approximately 250 employees and is one of Cherokee County’s top five employers.
