Cherokee hospital construction updates available on virtual groundbreaking site

March 12, 2016

Northside Hospital, which is building a replacement hospital to take the place of the current Northside Hospital-Cherokee, is tracking and sharing construction progress with the community via its new website, www.northsidecherokee.com. Updates on the projected two-year construction, which began in March 2015, include a live-feed camera, details about services and facility layout, and additional facts about the size and scale of the build.

“This is an exciting time for Northside employees, patients, residents and businesses in the area. We want to make sure that as people are seeing construction activity at the new location, they have a resource that can provide answers to questions about this project,” Steve Aslinger, facilities planning and development director for Northside Hospital, said.

The website launched shortly after crews broke ground earlier this year and is updated regularly as new milestones are reached.

In addition to the hospital building, the new Northside Hospital-Cherokee includes a medical office building and 900 parking spaces on a 50-acre complex. The replacement facility is slated to open its doors in Fall 2017.
