Forget the Commute: Career Opportunities Abound in Cherokee

July 1, 2021

The Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED) will host the Seventh Annual Cherokee Career Expo on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Northside Hospital Cherokee Conference Center. Since its launch in 2015, the expo has provided networking opportunities, resume review assistance, and career guidance to over 3,000 job seekers.

The Cherokee Career Expo is part of COED’s “Forget the Commute” campaign, an initiative aimed at helping residents find a job close to home so they can spend more time doing the things they love.

The expo includes a diverse lineup of employers ranging from the award-winning full-service digital agency Black Airplane to Chart Industries – a leading global manufacturer of highly engineered equipment for the industrial gas and clean energy industries. Other opportunities include healthcare, advanced manufacturing, public service, and law enforcement – to name a few.

“Cherokee is abounding with opportunity,” said COED Chairman Marshall Day. “From advanced manufacturing to IT, the Cherokee Career Expo is the perfect way to reinvent your career and discover the many opportunities that exist here at home.”

During the expo, representatives from Chattahoochee Technical College, Reinhardt University, and the Atlanta Regional Commission will be available to provide resume review assistance to job seekers beginning at 1 pm.

The expo also features services for U.S. military personnel and their families. Hire Heroes USA will be onsite to provide information about free, personalized employment services.
