Program Manager

Lee Smith has lived in Georgia since 1989 and began her career in the non-profit field. She is an Executive with 25 years of experience in non-profit administration, programs, and foundations, serving in community outreach and engagement initiatives and directing internal and external operations. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Georgia and is a Certified Facilitator in Life Skills Management.

She has been actively involved in the community in leadership roles with the Cobb Chamber of Commerce Leadership Cobb Program and Alumni Association, WorkSource Georgia, Cobb Literacy Council, Junior League of Cobb-Marietta, Cobb Collaborative, and the American Cancer Society Pink Ribbon Golf Classic. She was recognized as 75 Outstanding Women of Cobb County and Make an Impact, Leave an Impression from the Junior League of Cobb-Marietta, LiveSafe Resources Tribute to Women of Achievement, and Jack Vaughan, Jr. Human Services Award from the Cobb Collaborative.

Seeking to make a career change, she learned about the Cherokee Office of Economic Development and fell in love with their initiatives and impact. Though new to economic development, Lee’s experiences align with directing programs and events where she is able to make an impact, collaborate, and give back to the community.

When she is not working, you will find her volunteering with her son’s track and field team, playing tennis, walking their dog, Scout, or cheering for SEC football, especially the DAWGS!

Lee moved to Canton in March of 2021 with her husband, Adam and son, Hudson and now calls Cherokee County home.
