Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Exercise and promote safety
  • Set up and operate extruding press, using aluminum billet to produce ordered shapes, meeting specifications, dimensions and specific weight
  • Perform die changes in required time, adjust speeds and temperatures for product uniformity and quality
  • Inspect products for defects
  • Check dimensions with micrometers and calipers making necessary adjustments
  • Maintain production and downtime records throughout the shift
  • Additional duties as assigned

Minimum Education: HS Diploma or GED preferred

Minimum Experience: 3 months’ experience at UAC

Certifications Required: Crane certification; Forklift certification; Lock-out/Tag-out certification; Pallet jack certification (certifications completed during new hire orientation)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Communication Skills: Must speak, read and write English

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions and decimals

Reasoning Skills: Good reasoning and decision-making skills; ability to carry out instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; ability to learn how to operate complex machinery

Physical Abilities: Required to stand 100% of the time; regularly required to reach with hands and arms; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at any time; handle hot metal and tooling; reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Schedule: 1st shift
